Vision

I Am St. Mary's, a local group of Democratic women, supporting governmental and community representation in the areas of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and disability. We believe in the similarities and the humanness of all people.

The founding of I Am St. Mary's saw strong, dedicated Democratic women from across the county come together to work for our community.

Mission

Democratically-minded women seeking to educate, engage, and empower the women of St. Mary's County.

As such, we support local nonprofits and charities working to improve the lives of individuals living in St. Mary's County. For example, the newly established Food Bank will provide food to the county's 15 food banks. Being that St. Mary's County is one of the richest areas in the United States with such pockets of poverty, this is a necessity!

As such, we support and encourage Democratic women candidates for local elected offices and appointments to County, Tri-County, and State boards, commissions, committees, task force groups, etc.

As such, we participate in Democratic activism, such as local voter registration opportunities, neighbor networking, local activism activities, positive promotion of Democratic women and emphasizing the worth of Democratic women to the community.
